Pelican is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located 25 kilometres from Newcastle's central business district across the entrance to Lake Macquarie from the town of Swansea.
FV Pelican was a party boat, or head boat, operating out of Montauk, New York, which capsized on September 1, 1951, killing 45 passengers and crew, including the captain Eddie Carroll.
