The Soviet Republic of Saxony is the name that is sometimes used to refer to a short-lived, unrecognized soviet state that was established in the former Kingdom of Saxony following the collapse of the German Empire at the end of World War I. In the early weeks of the German Revolution of 1918–19, workers' and soldiers' councils took over control in a number of cities in Saxony. Wikipedia
